A Flawed Sales Letter Online

Two paragraphs here tell the story quite well. What follows is just my opinion.

It’s the interminable length that drives you crazy. You keep thinking, “Okay, what’s the deal?” Do you ever skip to the bottom to see what the offer is exactly?

Sometimes you click for the next page and receive a series of Russian Matrushka Doll One-Time-Offers. That has been a deal killer for me on occasion.

No doubt, if you have something to sell online, you will need to write some copy. The better you are at that, the better your sales will be. You can also simplify a bit.

One way to simplify is to include a video in place of some of the copy. It contrasts with the sales letter. It enhances the letter and the offer.

Using video means either your web cam, (or camcorder), plus a free video web site, or a screen capture program, like Camtasia, and the video site.

Sure, it’s a learning curve technology, but it may not cost anything. You may already have all the parts in the computer you use.

Audio is good, too. Especially for people who download the mp3 file and put it in there mobile player to take along. I’m not so into that. But, it’s a good thing.

I notice that many webmasters are placing their audio with minimal images into a video. But, it’s not really a movie. It’s a power point type presentation with very few slides.

As humble as that is, it’s the current medium of choice that I’m seeing as a teaching or persuasion message.

To recap, there are alternatives to the never-ending sales letter. If we learn how to use them we’ll be doing everyone a favor.
